New Mini-Album

We never expected to be here, but here we are, ‘Riding On The Tide Of Love’. When we released ‘City Of Love’ back in March we celebrated it getting to No. 1 in Scotland and No. 4 in the UK, and we were looking forward to a summer of festivals followed by a big tour at the end of the year. As we all know, that didn’t happen and once the dust had settled we realised we weren’t going to be going out on the road any time soon.

‘Riding On The Tide Of Love’ is a continuation of City Of Love, a companion piece that we recorded piece by piece, going into the studio one by one to record our individual parts. In its own way it’s brought us all together, we hope it will bring you together too. Three of the tracks that feature on this record, ‘Look Up’, ‘Send A Note Out’ and ‘She Loved The Snow’ were recorded during the ‘City Of Love’ sessions, and the other tracks were started around the same time but have been finished during lock down for this release. Tour Postponed

It is with sadness that we have to tell you our 2020 Cities of Love tour has been postponed to 2021. Tickets for all the rescheduled shows remain valid and your ticket agent will be in contact regarding your booking. We are longing to perform again.

There is some good news; we have added new shows to the tour, with extra dates in London and Manchester, new shows in Dundee and Sheffield, and a bigger venue in Birmingham (your original tickets are still valid for this show). Tickets for these shows are on sale now and we are happy to announce that Jamie Lawson will be supporting us throughout the tour.

We’re working on bringing something to you before the end of the year that we hope you’ll enjoy. More details on that soon.

Sending you love and good health, Deacon Blue.

Blenheim Palace Postponed

It probably won’t come as a surprise to hear that Simple Minds and Deacon Blue at Blenheim Palace has been postponed. There are a number things to finalise before the new date is announced but it will be between 17th and 20th June 2021. We will post it here as soon as we can. Here’s the full statement from the promoter. Take care x

This year’s Nocturne Live was set to be our biggest to date, so it’s with much regret that we announce we will be unable to take our yearly residence at Blenheim Palace in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19.

Alongside the safety of our audience, our artists, the residents of Woodstock and our crew, is a need to protect the capacity of emergency services in the Oxford area; a need that will be present for some time to come.

With this in mind, the sixth edition of Nocturne Live will now take place on 17th-20th June 2021. Our team is already making great progress rescheduling the full 2020 bill to the new dates and, once each concert has been confirmed, tickets will be automatically transferable to 2021. We hope you can join us in Blenheim Palace’s stunning Great Court next year.

If the rescheduling of artists is not possible, or you are unable to make these new dates, we will of course offer a refund on your tickets. Over the next 21 days our team will continue working hard to redeliver this year’s great line-up and you will be contacted directly by your ticket agent by 18th May with a full update. This will include details from us on the status of your concert, plus information on the ticket transfer and refund process from your ticket agent.

We thank you for your continued support in these very unique circumstances and hope that you are staying safe.
