We’ve decided to play a Greatest Hits show with a difference. Yes, we intend to play all (or nearly all) the old 45s, but we also want the first half of the evening to be an intimate acoustic performance, the band gathered round the piano with acoustic guitars and whatever Dougie decides to hit. We’ll play some album tracks and reinterpret a few favourites from the back catalogue. We’ll take a short break then come back and make a lot of noise. We hope you can be part of that noise. RRx

DUE TO DELAYS AT UK CUSTOMS THE NEW RELEASE DATE IS JUNE 18TH 2022

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, we’re excited to announce a special release of Raintown. The remastered album will be available on 12″ black vinyl and limited to 2000 copies, each individually numbered. This latest edition also features new liner notes from Ricky, plus the famous cover will feature “Raintown” in gold lettering. It will be released as part of this year’s Record Store Day UK in association with War Child – £1 from each sale will go towards supporting children living in conflict.

Ricky Ross, has announced a new solo album and tour Short Stories Vol. 2 alongside his memoir Walking Back Home.

The album will be released on CD, vinyl and digitally on 19th August 2022 by Cooking Vinyl.

In his memoir, Ross revisits his formative years growing up in Dundee, his early forays into music and the beginning, extraordinary success, fall-out, and re-emergence of Deacon Blue. Ross writes movingly and with great wit about the people and places that have meant the most to him, as well as his relationship with faith, politics, and the ever-changing challenges of being a musician.

Short Stories Vol. 2 was recorded at home, then augmented with sumptuous strings and brass, alongside contributions from his fellow Deacon Blue cohorts Lorraine McIntosh and Gregor Philp.
